Possibly normal. I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean that the paperwork isn't there, but rather that it hasn't been opened and your process started. Unless you sent it Registered and someone signed for it, I don't think they consider the packet exists until someone is assigned it. And sometimes they're not really good about updating status, either.
Periodically, there is a huge amount of news-driven applications received that backs up the processing. Right now, I don't know if there's any event causing a run on licenses, but maybe people heard about the "knockout game" problem in the Northeast/Midwest and wanted to protect themselves and family. Considering the timeframe, check after New Year's Day.

My BIL is mad as he**! His CCL license is up on the 23rd of this month. He was going to not wait until the last minute this year, and sent his renewal paperwork in in JULY, and cannot get a satisfactory answer from Austin. Despite assuring him that they have every thing they need from him, several people at the TDPS have told him "They are still working on issuing October's permits" That seems to be the standard answer. Meanwhile, his permit is still going to expire before the end of this month. He is LIVID!

Triji...Are you saying you sent your renewal in Oct 15, and got your renewal in two weeks? Or, what? Boy, now that would make my old BIL come uncorked!

My wife's said they hadn't recieved the paperwork until the day it went out for printing. Once it said they had the paperwork, it was about a week until she got the renewed license.

My wife's said they hadn't received the paperwork until the day it went out for printing. Once it said they had the paperwork, it was about a week until she got the renewed license. +1. It took almost 2 months for them to say they received my wife's paperwork. She initially sent it in electronically and after a month of no updates, she mailed everything. About a month later, they finally said they received everything and within a week she had the card (she actually got it yesterday). Looking back at the calendar, she took the class on October 5th, submitted her paperwork electronically the following week and just got the card yesterday.

I'm in the same boat. Mine was signed for - so I at least know they have it, but no update on the website. From what I have read online, it happens a lot. I am not worried, it's the government, what could go wrong? Lol

Sent my paperwork in on Nov.1, website still says they have not received my paperwork. Sent an e mail to their inquiry address with no response. Is this normal??? Sent mine in October 15th, haven't heard anything. Checked online today and it said papers not received. I called in and after waiting 45 minutes or so I reached someone. Told the guy the situation and he asked when I sent the papers in, I said October 15th, he laughed and said Oh yeah, those haven't been checked. He told me they might get to it by January. Apparently they are extremely backed up... Don't know about you, but I am sick and tired of having to leave my pistol in my truck, hopefully they get their act together.

The logon webpage is not updated with fresh data as often as it should be - usually it doesn't reflect all paperwork received until they are ready to make the license and mail it. A renewal has been coming back in two to four weeks for most folks - my recent one in January was back in two weeks after submitting all the info online as PDFs. When I paid my fee - the screen reflected I did not need new photos or fingerprints so it was good to go. With the new regulations on renewal classes it should go even faster.
Only at the end do you realize the power of the Dark Side.

Thanks again for all the information everyone. News Years Day and no status change on the website. Guess I will try to be patient.

Applied for renewal on Jan 2nd and received license Jan 28th. That's 26 days or about 15 business days if you don't include mail time. not bad...
