OK, so I hunted ducks for the first time this week on my pond, just walked up and jumped 'em, got a pair od gadwalls. There were about 20 total. Yesterday, I wnet back, and there were only 3 gadwalls on it (I missed them). Should I put out decoys? I've been hunting evenings, should I hunt mornings? Or do I just wait a while for the ducks to come back...?

Try all of those ideas, only way to find out. Congrats on your birds, now you will be hooked!

congrats on gaddies. hunt mornings. If they are there in the evenings, it is a roost and if you shoot them off it, they aren't coming back. ity may take awhile for it to pick back up out there again.

but hunt mornings there. not evenings.

I agree, hunt the mornings. Even though it is tempting and easier in the afternoon (time wise), they will stick longer if you do not shoot them off their roost. have Fun
