You can drink a tablespoon of diesel or gasoline to kill a tapeworm (according to an old Army survival handbook),

Well, the military has always had the soldier's best interest at heart, LOL. It probably will stop the immediate affects of a tapeworm, but subsequent liver and kidney damage may occur much later. The survival book also says NOT to repeat, IIRC.

It certainly could... I'm not sure that cumulative liver and kidney damage is as much of a problem for an animal that only lives ten years (unless they live near DNS).

LOL, I keep shooting mine before they get beyond their first year. The point is that if you are drawing on an ARMY survival guide as advice for something to be a good idea, in regard to your long term safety, you are looking in the wrong place.

'Nother anecdote… As a boy, I remember trying to build a fire in a friend's backyard via a primitive method described in the Army manual. We weren't sure why his parents were so nonchalant about what we were doing, but it turned out there was a lot of comically bad advice in that book that seemed quite the authority to a pair of third graders. Anyway, that bit about ingesting fuel was written tongue-in-cheek. That consuming a pig that has consumed diesel treated corn would be kind of like a homeopathic reduction of diesel wasn't and I do think that if the thought of a dieselly hog would turn you there might be other things about their diet to consider.
