I had a pair of Rockys do the same thing. They were about a year old and only been worn twice. A guy I worked with had a boot repair shop on the side, so I asked him about replacing the soles. He replaced the soles and the boots were better than new. I still have them and they are some of my favorites. You might look into having them repaired which is much cheaper than new ones. Only Wolverines I have ever wore are the DuraShock workboots and I love them.

Chinese rubber. Not a fan of glued on soles. I have pair of Herman Survivors that are 30+ years old. I do not wear them much any more but they are still in very good shape.

These were brand new boots I bought at Bass Pro Shops many years ago for cold weather hunting. Me and my dad both purchased the same pair of boots at the same place on the same day. All they did for the first year of their life was sit in the closet until it got cold enough to need them. When we needed them we both found out they were worthless due to the soles melting and crumbling despite neither one of us ever putting them on outside of the store. Sent Wolverine a e-mail about it a while back and never heard back from them. Will never buy another Wolverine product again! Did you try taking them back to Bass Pro? I had a problem with a pair of boots that never did fit right in the heel. There was a seam that kept causing blisters. I finally gave up on them two years after I bought them. I took them back to Bass Pro and they gave me a full refund. They'll work it out with the manufacturer. Cass

Didn't have the receipt and figured after a year they would laugh at me even if I did have it.

Danners are good boots, have owned several pairs...But my preference is Meindel's...have numerous types, from mountain to low cut hikers...Like them all...Plus, I wear them daily instead of tennis shoes, cowboy boots, etc.,

OP bummer! My wifes Rocky's did the same thing. Rockys will do the same thing-some batches anyway. I have seen it. Yes sir, I had a pair of Rockys that did the same thing. I've got a pair of 10 year old Danners that are still going strong.

I got an old pair of Rocky boots out in my office. Bought them 20 years ago when they were still made in Ohio. They still do the job. Not sure I'd buy from them again...

I have had three pairs of Danners for seven , seven and four years now. All still in incredible shape. The 1200 thinsulates I only bring out when its real cold. Three times this year they kept my feet warm in five to 20 degree weather. I will never own another hunting/hiking boot.

I got a pair of 7 year old danner boots that are still going strong. The rubber is just now getting wore down. Has anyone ever sent them back to have new bottoms installed? How long did it take?

Most of these boot companies do not produce their own soles. They buy from others, such as Vibram. Looks like the sole manufacturer screwed up on the production of the plastics involved. Found out who produced the sole and contact that company. They may be willing to resole those boots. Just a thought.

If those were Red Wings, you could send them back to the factory for a rebuild. They do that for their customers. It would be free in your case.

I would take them to the shoe doctor to see what they would charge to resole them.

This is why I buy $39. boots at Academy and wear two pair of socks. Sorry about the bad luck, but I would call again.... or until they hear my complaint
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

Danners just don't work that well for me.
For serious rock climbing and mountain hunting, I like Lowa and Vasque. The lasts that those two companies use seem to translate best to my feet.
For hunting that requires a lot of walking on flatter ground--like Africa or quail hunting--Red Wings are personal favorites. Again, it is probably the lasts they use that suits my feet.
Now that I've told you my favorites, NEVER buy a pair of hunting boots based on the recommendation of another hunter. Your feet are gonna be different than his feet. Only trial and error will uncover the best boots for you.
