Went out to a North Texas lake and got shut out.
After LST but before sun-up, we had a group of 4 come in low and fast directly over us. I sat still waiting for the, to circle and hopefully come in for a landing. They never looked down, turned, flared, or made any other reation what so ever. They just continued on like we weren't even there.
I told my buddy that the next group to come in range, don't wait, just shoot.
We never got another chance. We sat there untill about 10:30 am. We saw 4 or 5 small groups and they all did the exact same thing. The problem was they were comeing in from the East and, due to the sun, we coun't see them untill they were already on top of us. We never even got our guns up they were gone so fast. Another group of hunters about 150 yards up the shoreline got a pair late in the day. Same way. The birds came in low and fast, but the shooters were ready and caught them as soon as they came in range.

Arise.Kill.Eat -Acts 10:13 I have read a bunch of stuff on the internet about Star Wars but that does not mean I can skin a deer with a light saber.

You set up with the sun in your face? I take it you walked in or drove down the bank to the blind? I only hunt on west side if there is a good cloud cover.
If God wanted labs to point he would have gave them a stick

Sorry, this was a hunt on Sat. morning.
We walked in and set up facing the south. Public land on a big lake. Normally, the birds here fly in from the main lake to the East up the center of the cove, then turn in and circle the spread before dropping in according to the wind. This day, the birds flew up the shore line directly to our left.
Just rough having a hunt that we never even got to pull the trigger. At least we saw birds, just didn't set up right.

Happened to me this morning. Had 3 come into the decoys 10 min before LST but they only stayed a minute or two. Then only saw about 5 more ducks the rest of the morning and they were low and fast. Saw about 40 snow geese and same thing low and fast. That's the way it goes though, sure beats being at work!
