Ground aoudad and ground lean beef are virtually identical in taste.

I have only shot one and he was a young one but still was very gamey. Added garlic ad that helped some. I won't be trying to eat another one.

If you ever eat an aoudad that has been handled correctly you'll throw deer meat in the garbage.

^Think that's the first time I've heard this.
With jerky, you could certainly kill any gaminess, and it would make a ton of jerky.
Never had one; only heard they are a bit difficult to get right

Feed it to the critters and if you cook it the pan or grill would taste better than the meat

Just don't ever try to make steaks out of them. Very tough. I heard all the bs about them tasting bad and only kept the backstrap off my first (donated the rest). After triple tenderizing the strap steaks I swore I'd never donate any again.
The meat processors LOVE folks who donate them. They just grind them up and sell as hamburger.

Just be careful to never touch the meat with a hand that's just touched his pi** soaked hair. It's really very simple.
I flat out don't eat hardly eat any deer (including axis) anymore. When you can eat aoudad and eland and pere david, you don't eat deer.

I've only kept one and I followed some advice I read somewhere to age it a few weeks on ice but cover the meat in a layer of kosher salt first. Mine came out pretty decent, not the best I ever had but sure nothing to turn a nose up at. Mine was a ewe, may have made a difference.

I fixed the back strap from my aoudad and enjoyed it. We cooked it long and low heat. It was "chewy" but tasted very good, I thought. If I ever ger another chance I will take a rump roast to try..

It's funny Elk and Whitetail are about the worst tasting game animal but they get the most play. I would much prefer Aoudad over either.

But I grind it up and it's awesome. Eland and pere david are better. Probably oryx/addax too. But none of the deer come close.

I'm damm sure smart enough not to tell someone that Aoudad is better than Axis. I know a guy that married the ugliest woman I've ever seen twice. So I guess it's true.... There's no accounting for taste.

I ground one & mixed with pork & seasoning which made a great breakfast sausage. Very good.

If you ever eat an aoudad that has been handled correctly you'll throw deer meat in the garbage. Never fails there is always one guy that has to mention handling correctly, and you've never had mine, you don't know how to cook it bla bla bla
