Hang on to the gun.
Use the $50 to go home.
Make it up to the gf later...if she's the ONE, she'll understand.
Good luck to ya!!

Let me give some great advise, I'm 28 years old gollege grad married with kids, You could sell the rifle but personally I wouldn't...not if you use the rifle, now if you dont need the rifle, sell it, and PM me a price, go deliver some Pizza or get some sort of extra job and get out of this mess while its still little. Now, dont ever borrow money again, save and pay cash, I know it sounds crazy, but its doable. Go to www.daveramsey.com and order The Total Money Makeover, his NY Times best seller, if you can't afford it PM me your address and if you promise to read the book I'll buy you a copy...

You can also take it to a pawn shop, get just enough money on it to get by, then when you are a little more flush in a few weeks you can get it back out.
I know that everyone will have their own personal comments on this, but I have been doing just this very thing for over 20 years now.
They will offer you more than you need, just put it in for 50 or 100, no more, and you can get it out pretty easy.
The only thing will be that when you go to redeem it, get it out of pawn, you will have to fill out the Fed. Form to get the gun back. JMO.

Just do not go to a payday lender (cash now) dont get caught in any traps of borrowing, As do the rich rule over the poor, the borrower is SLAVE to the lender. Prov 22:7

I agree with rstewlandman 100%. The borrower is slave to the lender and life is sooo much easier if you don't have to drag debt around.
This gun is liberty; hold for certain that the day when you no more have it, you will be returned to slavery. - Toussaint Louverture

Dang! I hate it when people beat me to the punch in offering to buy somebody a copy of the TMMO. Dave Ramsey is the best. Go throw papers early in the morning before class, deliver pizzas, do what you got to do but don't EVER sell a gun for a chick.

Get a book by Dave Ramsey or listen to him on the TV/radio. Debt is a bad thing. With the exception of a few items, "do not buy things you can not pay cash for" and certainly do not buy gifts on credit. If you can't afford your dogs then you certainly can't afford a girlfriend. Being financially responsible starts with you. If you want more money then work harder/smarter and educate yourself in finances. This advise may be a bit harsh but learn now so you don't waste a lot of money in the future.

I would very quickly find someone who loved dogs. You can't afford them.
I would get rid of the gun. You can't afford it.
I wouldn't go home. You can't afford it.
I would make pizzas in between reading the Ramsey book while I was studying. That you can afford and it sounds like you need to do some thinking. You are young and need to do some real thinking about priorities and checks that aren't so good. These guys have given you some damn good advice. None of them learned this stuff the easy way. It all involves pay now and play later.
The Girlfriend? You're on your own there.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.
