Just bought a Ruger new model Super blackhawk hunter. 7.5 barrel. Will be scoped. Not a reloader so need some factory round suggestions for hog hunting at under 50 yds. Stoked to turn this page........Thanks

Buffalo bore is the first place I would look.

Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

We used the plain ol Winchester white box 240gr jacketed soft point. 1 auodad and 2 whitetail deer fell. Only the auodad ran aftet the shot and fell within 30 yds.

Pretty much any factory load will work at those ranges.
I've killed some pigs with the hornady leverevo 44 loads.

Seems to be a recurring Hornady theme.

I load my own 310gr FPGC. Very deadly on hogs and deer. I would look at something comparable.
The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.

I shoot the 240 gr Hornady XTPs, but... this Pretty much any factory load will work at those ranges.

I hunted with a 44 for several years and firmly believe in hardcast and moderate velocities. A 250g keith style hardcast at 1050-1100 FPS will punch clean through a 350lb boar's shoulders.
Easy to shoot and highly effective.

Lots of bullets will work, one to stay away from is Winchester Silvertips too expansive and lack of penetration.

I've shot hogs and deer with the Platinum tip .44 and it flat out knocks 'em dead. longest shot was 61 yard from the same setup as yours.....

ANY will work, as longs as they group for you. I'm shooting home cast HARD lead flat point 245 grain. Don't have to be a high $ bullet, when you put it in their head.
