I finished off this year's season with a very wet Webb Co hunt with my daughter and oldest son. We shared plently of good time and laughs in the stand and also managed to take a couple of deer.

The rain started the day after Christmas and really didn't let up until the day before we left, it made for some very muddy conditions down south. Although the weather was cold and wet, we managed to see some pretty good deer. The first afternoon we saw this buck and being so early in a week long hunt, my daughter decided to pass in hopes of finding something bigger. The pic is not very good.

One other buck caught my daughter's interest and she begged to shoot, but I want to give this deer another year or two. My daughter has shot a few nice deer and this is the first time I've ever told her no on a buck, figured it was time for her to learn how some of our bigger deer are made possible, so I guess you can say this is her introduction to management.

On the second to last day of this trip, we decided to go back to where we had seen that buck on the first day. 30 minutes into the hunt, he was out again and the pic tells the rest of the story. Her 7mm-08 made for a short tracking job, we figure the deer was 6.5.

My oldest son waited patiently for his sister to get a buck and managed to tag a big doe on the last day of the trip

Made alot of good memories this season, time to start thinking about next year now.

Great hunt
Congrats

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!
