Someone here said an AK couldnt kill anything bigger than a dog. I filled the rest of my tag this weekend with mine. Guess mine is the exception.

Nice shooting. I've killed deer with my ar15 with a 2x ACOG
If you are able to remember stupid stuff the next day, your doing it wrong.
At least anything worthy of mentioning.

poachers have killed hundreds of thousands of elephants in africa with ak-47s anyone who doughts the lethality of the 7.62X39 caliber is sadly misinformed.

Really want a AK SBR. i find my under folder is short enough for me, i think its 33 inches overall.. i have been lusting over a kitty kat Ar for a few years now, cant really justify the price or headache though..

Yea I guess that wouldn't be too bad, but I've heard the under folder butt stocks are uncomfortable to shoot. I've had an over folder on one of my mossberg 590's and hated it. It felt like it was cutting into my cheek when I shot it. Maybe it was the recoil of the 12g I don't know.

I need to learn more about optics too. That RDS is suppose to be 4moa but at 100 yards its as big as a basketball. Guess I dont understand.

Turn it down to where you can see the target through the dot. I use an aimpoint T1 4MoA on my AR and I just turn it down to where I can see the target through the dot and it works great. I think 4MOA at 100 yards is about 4" so if you have a 8" target it will cover pretty much half the target.
That's what I've been wanting to do is SBR a pap M92 pistol. My SBR and suppressor stamp should be in in a couple of of weeks. Don't know if I want to wait another year and with the changes to the trust crap don't really know the process to do again.

Try the 154 grain soft points for hunting, they work great and hold together. They even mushroom in my 7.5" AK. Looks like you bullet worked just fine but a lot of those 122 grain HP break apart at the tip when they hit instead of mushrooming.

I use an SKS now as for me it is more accurate than my AK ever was.
Either way, 7.62x39 will work on deer and hogs just fine within it's performance envelope. I've always thought that a bolt action chambered in that round would make for a pretty decent truck or stalking rifle.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

Don't forget the Mini30. I've been using one for years. The 154 Wolf works great. Will use the PPU 123 SP this year.

Seems to me ballistically the 7.62x39 is very close to 30~30. Pretty nice round in a semi auto. Im looking for mini 30. But not real sure the sks wont out shoot it

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

the newer mini 30.s have thicker barrels and shoot much better than the older ones, and I also had a open sighted norcio sks that could shoot open sighted with any 30/30 I ever saw here in east texas hog hunting with 223 ar,s is all the crazy if that works their is noway a 7.62/39 cant be a good deer/hog round at short to mid ranges as in all smaller cal a good bullet is key, I use both my mini 30, and a sks for playing around after hog and varmin, for a get down deer hunt my bolt action 270 comes out
NRA all the way god guns and guts made us free , i want all three

I will second for 154 grain bullets they are super. It's pretty hard to believe you can buy a box of 20 good hunting loads at Cabela's for six dollars.
I am thinking the SBR too. Yugo 7.62 PAP pistols are less than $400 right now because a new model is coming out really a bargain and would be astraight up deal for an SBR build.
