Walmart and academy. Then you have to time it right with the shipments.

Whats cheap? I caught some at gander when they first opened. 525 packs, right at 6 cents a round.

It is still there just scarce.

I can't remember the last time I saw 22 mag on the shelf...

Since moving to Houston this summer 22lr has been hard to get but my Dad can find it in Shreveport and buys it for me.

Sorry lady. He's not special. He's a dummy. The only thing special about him is how especially dumb he is.

"But he can't pass the tests because the tests are too hard."
Well that's sort of the point of tests. To find out who the winners and failures are.

I digress.

Here in Tucson, you have wait in the store for them to unload the supply truck if you want 22LR. Everything else has settled down, and you can buy other calibers at will. However, 22 LR still gets bought as soon as it hits the shelves.

Im in Austin. Gander Mountain has been good for 22 Mag, have been boxes the last few times I was in there.

As for 22 LR, Academy has been the best for me. But I have found CCI at Wal-mart and Gander Mountain as well. The CCI is more expensive than the other brands. Best thing to do, would be find out shipment dates for Academy and arrive early morning at those stores.

My dad and I live in different towns a few hours apart. When we see bullets we call the other on and ask what they need. This seems to work out pretty well.

I watch slickguns.com for rimfire deals. Sometimes they have cheap .22LR with cheap or free shipping. It goes fast of course.
For example I got 500 rds Remington Thunderbolt .22LR for $21.99 shipped to the house the other day. Too bad the limit was 1 box! Of course if they didn't put limits there wouldn't be any left anyway I guess.
Sad that this is a good price these days. I was looking at a brick of Federal I bought at Walmart just a couple years ago and the price tag on it was $13.

Too many jack wagons watching Dooms Day Preppers and zombie movies. They think because 22lr is light and small they can carry a whole bunch of ammo into battle and survive the apocalypse. Or hold off everyone at the end of time. So they buy as much as they can and store it.

In reality, zombies will never happen. And if the world ends, no amount of ammo will hold off whats coming for them. An army has artillery and will smear them on the ground. From a Christian stand point, I wont be here, but bullets aren't going to make a difference. But they will continue to buy and hoard or gouge people either way.

22 rimfire remains very tight in the USA. If ya have the chance to go to Canada 22s are hanging off the shelves. My last trip to Edmonton Cabela's I have never seen so many 1400 qty buckets of Remmy Golden bullets and Winchester 555 boxes. Americans fear of its government remains in every ones mind.

That's the one. Older gal with tattoo on her face was the one that told me they were out. I may swing by again early tomorrow to see if maybe it just wasn't put out.

They did have 50 BMG though. lol

Yep hard to find anywhere. I still pick up a few boxes at Academy when I'm there. I have quite a bit out in the barn, but still buy a few boxes when I see them. My boys shoot the crap out of it. They will go thru 1000+ rounds a weekend.
