Let me know is you are using either and your thoughts. I am looking to buy a GPS collar for my dog and wanted to get some feedback on both if possible.

Thanks

I have a Garmin Astro. It's about 4 years old. It has had it's problems over the few years I've had it. This is my second one. I hunted with a man who had the latest model a few weeks ago. He really liked the newer one.

I bought the sport dog last summer. I have been very pleased with it. I am really surprised by how long it will hold a charge. I can run all weekend on one charge.

I have the Garmin Astro and love it. I hunt four dogs at a time and don't know how we made it without them. Joe has the Garmin Alpha and it is good but a little more complicated than what I like.
Adios,
Gary

I use the TEK1 system and when it works it works great as long as all you need to know is where they are and what they are up to. If you need to know more go with the Garmin, they got it all. Reliability is a problem with all the gps systems. I've been hunting with hunters who were using Garmin products that failed in the field and my Sportdog stuff has let me down too so I do not think there is an advantage there. I carry an extra collar and receiver wherever I hunt, jic. If cost is an issue, Sportdog has the advantage there for sure and their customer service has been good for me in all problems encountered so far.
