What do you do to prepare a bobcat or fox after a kill to bring it to a taxidermist. I am seeing both at my lease and I would like to get either mounted. Do I field dress it myself or take it as is, bag it, freeze it, and take it to taxi when I can. Any tips to getting it to taxidermist would be appreciated.

Don't make any cuts on the animal. Leave it whole. As soon as the body heat dissipates, double bag it in heavy trash bags and freeze. It will keep for a year or so this way. Good luck to you!

One caveat if your hunting out of state, for bobcat, you require CITES paperwork to take it across state lines. I know in MN they requires that the bobcat be skinned and both the skin and carcass be presented for inspection. It really complicates things.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype
