Sorry the post is a little late, I just got back to the daily grind after all of the Christmas travel.

Went down last weekend to my friend SandyCreekOutfitters ranch to do a little hunting and camping. We saw quite a few deer out on Saturday evening, but nothing to shoot at.



Sunday, we decided to do a little predator calling after the morning hunt. Got out the old Knight and Hale electric caller and went to work. The wind was swirling Sunday, but we managed to call up 3 in our first couple spots. We saw a total of 6 yotes, taking down a couple of them.



After not having any luck Monday morning, we packed up and headed home. I went on up to the lease in Kendalia for the monday afternoon hunt. Got in the blind around 4, and started seeing deer right away. saw a total of 5 bucks and 2 does. Around 5:30, the 8 point came out and jumped in the feeder, and I whacked him with the .270



Not the biggest deer, but he'll sure eat well!

I'm heading back down to SandyCreekOutfitters place tomorrow afternoon to do some more hunting, we'll be sure to keep y'all updated.

They're out there, they seem to work better in sets of 12

Went back down to SandyCreekOutfitters ranch this past weekend. Didn't have quite as much luck with the predators. Called up one at night, but he was a smart dog, never broke out of the tree line and stayed out of range.

We did however call up 4 deer (1 buck and 3 does) while using the cottontail distress call after the morning hunt. Has anyone else ever experienced this? The buck came in hot to trot, on a line. Switched it up to a doe bleat after a while, and he eventually took of. It was pretty interesting.
