I have a 13 week old Chocolate Lab puppy that I have been training. This is my first puppy to train and things are going great. However, I would like to get with a professional 2-4 times a month to help me along with training. (I will pay of course) Any suggestions on a trainer in the Fort Worth area (I live in Crowley) that would be willing to do something like this? Also, if anybody in the area is training a puppy would be more than happy to meet up and work them together sometimes and make it fun. I'll bring the beer! lol

Thanks for any references!

Great pictures. Looks as if that puppy is already trained. You don't need any help.

A retriever club will be great for you. Looks like you're on the right track. Buckle up, because it's the most fun you're going to have on two feet.

Hey Chas;

I didn't even see this post until tonight!!

She is growing like a weed!!

She's just like her dad (both think they're lap dogs!!!)

How much does she weigh now?

She's looks like she's gunna be a biggun'

So proud of both of you...Keep up the great work

And keep the pics coming.

Dave (your breeder)

I have her sister down in Houston! She is coming along great! Loves to retrieve, getting two toys at a time and bringing them back with no problem at all. You did a great job with these pups Dave. House training was a breeze. Would be cool to keep in touch and see them develop.

Beautiful pics Derek!

You are doing an absolutely superb job training!

One small tidbit of advice...

I wouldn't allow her to pick up two items at the same time.

I would have her concentrate on one retrieve at at time.

Doubles are OK (but focus on "first one down, first one fetched")

That will pay off dividends when you're out hunting and she won't switch birds on you.

A lot of guys will say you're going too fast...

Keep up the great work!

Dave

Live action, we should definitely keep in touch! You have a good looking pup! I remember her from when I visited Pumpkin. Pumpkin is very smart, and a fast learner! She is not scared of water or loud noises, and loves birds!!! She is stubborn tho! Lol My brother In law lives just outside of Houston, so maybe we could reunite them someday and train together.

I took Pumpkin to scout some spots with me. She had a good time in the boat!

I also had Pumpkin do her first water retrieve. She jumped right in with no hesitation.
