Does anyone make a good quiet 2-way radio that doesnt make loud noises when you key the mic? I wnat to use these in a deer blind to talk to the other hunters on our lease.

Yes they do. Might check your operator manual because on most you can turn off the ping on key feature.

I agree with jeh7mmmag - most radios have a way to turn that bothersome noise off. You may have to enter a series of operations to do so, but it's well worth the headache.

Have had good luck with the Radio Shack models. Have used a set since they came out back in the late 90's....still going strong. We bought the microphone/speaker combo to use with them. Set them in the blind and just use the mike.
No noise when you key....

Or, if you get even a minor cell signal, you can just text message each other. We quit using our radios at all last year, and just started texting each other. Set the phone to vibrate, and wear them keys out!

We have been using some Motorola two ways for the past 5 years or so and they work great for us! We just use the earbuds with the mic. and it works out really well!

We use the same thing but Midlands. They work great as long as you are not too far. At that point, we started texting.

I gave up on the radios and now we just text. It works great and no noise (ever).Plus everyone has a cell phone. Keeps you from going out and buying radios. JMO
