New bow (or lightly used).. Does NOT have to be a 2013 model. Would like to be able to outfit it nicely for under $1k total. Any thoughts appreciated.

I went lightly used and am very happy with what I got.

Saved a lot of money.

I got the '13 model as the '14s came out and got 30% off on a brand new bow fully rigged

rltu66, I would go to a bow shop, look at their used bows, should be easy to get a very good bow fully riged for half that money. pluss they can fit the bow to you. as already been said get the 2013 model for a lot less than 2014. Forrest

Will definitely be buying from a pro shop...doesn't make sense not to IMO. I don't yet have the equipment or the know how to do all the setup and proper tune. Just interested in good and/or bad experiences with specific 2012-2013 models. All I've ever shot is PSE. Certainly don't mind sticking with them (evo, DNA, or maybe even Prophecy?), but don't want to stick with them just because that's all I know.

Don't skimp on sight, rest or release. A good rest will get you by but a great rest will help with tight groups. A good sight will work but a great sight will not let you down. Your release is often overlooked but is as important as a good trigger on a rifle.
