wasn't really much that help, been to GunShows was looking for colt .44cal 60-62 seen a colt .44 51 little over $100.00 looked around bit more, others seen price's were way high, did see a 36cal colt they wanted over $1,500.00 for it, right next to it same black powder as .44 I have here for $1,200.00 went back to other pistal, they had sold it. it was same type colt that my friend had that used ta shoot with back in 70's, not saying i'm an expert on black powder, but have put many, many rounds threw em.

CVA does make a .50 pistol. I shot one that belonged to a friend's uncle, and said "I got to have one". It was accurate, and recoil wasn't bad. I plan on getting one, just haven't yet.

am thinking that would have a 209 primmer, if so could use pellets, like the in-line rifles. he got a picture. theirs others could help ya more on that one

Have shot a scout back in the 80's. Good shooting guns. Ignition is from #11 percussion caps. Best bet for a real good hunting 50 cal new ML handgun would be a tc Encore which will use 209 primers. scout manual link

I have .50 caliber Traditions Vortek inline pistol with a 1-24 power Nikon pistol scope. The only down side is the you can only shoot 70 grains of powder in it. Other than that I like it as a companion to my CVA Accura V2 inline rifle. In the pistol I use one of Hodgdon's 60 gr 777 pellets and a 175 gr Powerbelt bullet. This combination has worked well when I have needed a backup for hogs. Also have taken an elk cow with one shot from it at 30 yards. Nice hole going in and blew up her lungs.
