A friend offered up some land for my buddies and I to hunt around Dryden. I'm not sure which direction or how far out, but I'm told there are red deer on the property. Do any of you have any experience out that way or seen any?

Could be. But I'd bet money it's elk. Lotta elk out near Sanderson.

That said, if it's one of those 300 acre ranchettes out there I wouldn't get my hopes up. They are usually well shot out.

It's an 800 acre property that the family has owned for decades, but hasn't hunted in the last 8 years. They raise exotics in Central TX, so I have to assume the red deer have been correctly identified. I'm going to try to get out there to do some scouting in June. Unfortunately, with my work schedule, exotics and nuisance animals are my best bet since I can't often get home to TX during regular seasons.
