The cameras have taught us that the deer are more likely to hit the feeders and more likely to move during the day Tuesday through Thursday. Somehow they know when Friday roles around!

Guess I need to start sleeping in Your comment brings up a good point for the discussion. I have slept in, even once on Opening Day, when there was a full moon. And I remember seeing deer that day sometime after getting on the stand around 10am when most of the guys were already back at camp. Using their game camera, has anyone found strong evidence that deer are more likely to move during the middle of the day when the moon is full? I set up two cameras on heavy scrape areas last year that were about 500 yards apart but in two different stretches of woods separated by an open field about 250 yards wide. I only had one mature buck on cam that visited both scrapes the whole season, and in most of the pics as the deer were walking away it looked as if they were headed straight to the other area!? I have two other cams set up this year near the others, be interesting to see who is where. Ratio of night to day visits was probably around 60/40%. Not sure moon phase had much to do with their day and night time visits or vice versa, as the time they visited and moon phase are all over the board. Here's a few of the nicer bucks that made it during the day, none of which I was around for! This is the 9 that visited both scrapes, thought these pics were cool, notice the hair stand up as he gets at it.

nerding out a bit and came across this old post, thought it had some good info in it and some could probably add more...
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

That I may never get a 140+ deer on the place I'm on now maybe not even a 130" 10+ cams on a 450 acre place don't lie. x2

I've realized that the camera don't catch all the deer that come threw my area. It's actually rare for me to get pics of the bucks I do shoot.
The deer will run away from a feeder when I drive within 1000 yds of my feeder in the mornings.
I also agree with others that I get more movement on Monday threw Thursday.... I use to be one of those people who said deer are not that smart but.... I think they May patter me better than I pattern them. My place too small to get out and try anything diff. O and we got lots of creek beds and I hardly ever catch deer traveling threw them consistently.

I've learned that you can pee directly ON your feeder and not effect the deer either way. You can spit snuff under your feeder and guess what...the deer don't care. You can gut a deer within 6' of your feeder and guess what...mature bucks are there that evening. Not around here on the gut pile. I shot a doe with my bow near a feeder by herself , blood was everywhere around and on feeder leg as she didn't run 10 yards. It took almost a month before I saw or got pics at that feeder. I do agree on the pee and snuff but it seems deer behave different from place to place....

I've learned that the mature bucks I get pics off all summer long go in there bunker around Sept 15...lol...I've killed a lot of big mature bucks here over the years but only one that I had a pic of.....and that was 1 1/2 miles from pic location.

Deer move many miles even before the rut. I hunt big acre ranches and have the chance to see many, many deer in feeders 5 miles apart.
Many deer move their home ranges some miles from year to year some come back other stay on their new range. Seen other deer stay within a few miles all their lives.
