I am in San Marcos. Getting really board. I have till the 2nd of Jan of and wanting to know if there is any public land around me to go look for hogs. I tried TPWD web site but it wont bring up maps. Also what is involved in hunting public lands?

its tougher hunting, they make ya were orange, an hogs see better than what most give em credit for. theirs a public hunting form lower in Form List, $48.00 for permit, they send a booklet, heard ahout free public land gots no info thar lot of leg work, most sign youll see is done mostly at night, alot depends on pressure best wishes

Closes is probably Granger in Georgetown, Texas. You have to pay the 48 dollar APH. It's not easy hunting but always fun.

Yeah you can do that but make sure to follow the regulations for that specific public land. Granger only allows bow hunting for hogs and only at certain times.

walmarts and academys have aph permits you can buy there. And there is a maps for Aph areas like what was said in the forum down further.
