Just got back from El Campo duck/goose hunting. My red dog got to pick up his 1st goose and did great!
Weather was great for socializing, but tough for the birds. Warm, no wind, but we did have a good fog.
Jack had about 40 retrieves over the 2 days. He never balked on any cripples, had several long sailing
birds and snatched one out of the air (more of a flying tackle) that tried to get away. He turns 2 on
sat. and is making me proud!

Nice hunt.
I haven't went yet this season.
Looks like I need to plan one.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Yeah, it was great fun and an excellent training session. Never even uncased my shot gun, just worked the pup.
One of the guys is getting that good lookin' bar belly mounted, well defined stripes.
Huck, the pup is really digging it. Need to work casting though, had to walk to damn far to get him directed on blinds.
We're both a work in progress...

Yeah, it will come with time. Blinds are all about confidence. Dang good looking dog though.
