Growing up, deer were ubiquitous in the city. Whenever my family gathered for birthday dinners, we often went on post-dinner "deer runs." This usually consisted of all the men (and boys) piling into a few pickup trucks, and driving around the neighborhood looking for deer. It's one of my favorite memories as a child, and it is something that I still do to this day, much to the chagrin of my wife. There has been one particular neighborhood buck that I have seen the past two years. Hope y'all enjoy these photos.

wholey moley! Are you located in Austin? That's a heck of a buck!

A real hunter never returns empty handed. Spending time in the wilderness temporarily satifies the soul, but leaves us longing for more.

Great deer and a fine example of why the AR laws need to be rewritten.

I don't understand TX Geese comment regarding 6 points on one side....that's not in the AR's. He can be an eight by eight and still be illegal if not 13 inches wide.

Am I missing something.

Good pics, and nice city buck who apparently sleeps on his right side.

When ARs were initially implemented, they had a stipulation where you could shoot a buck if it had 6 or more points on one side. Not around anymore though.

THanks for sharing. If I'd been a 12 -15 year old growing up in your portion of austin, I'd have been in a lot of trouble for what I would have attempted with my bow, some corn and tall backyard fences!

There are some tempting deer in the area! I see mature bucks every year. They just need to be able to dodge the traffic, of they might end up like this guy:
