I have been shooting Hornady 7mm 139gr moly coated btsp for the last 8 years and they discontunued them. When I found this out 2 years ago I bought as many as I could find and between my father-in law amd myself we are just about out. What is a good replacement, in your opinion, for this bullet.
I know I am going to have to clean our guns thouroghly to remove the moly coating from the barrel.
Any suggestions, my father in law and I both shoot Browning 7mm with the Boss System, so I feel I can tune the gun to most any bullet, I am just looking for a consistent load that shoots well.
Thanks,
Mike

i shot the nonmoly coated 139 gr for years w/ excellent results. i really like the bonded plastic tipped bullets now. scirroco's, etip, xp3 and accubond should be an excellent choice also.

I have a 7 mag browning with boss as well and i am shooting the Hornaday 139gr BTSP. When all is said and done three bullets touching at 100 and 200 yards. I used to use the federal B-Tip but after i had two "blow up" and not penetrate i switched and have never looked back!

You do know you can buy the stuff to moly coat your own bullets if you wanted to stay with them?

I don't have any information on it handy. I remember you buy the moly powder and run your powder and bullets in a tumbler best I remember. You should be able to google it.

Call these people 1-707-747-0897 or 1-800-451-3550 the company is called Nero. they will moly coat any bullets you send them. whether its one or two boxes of 50 or 100. they will only charge you per batch. I sent them 2 boxes of sierra bullets both were 100 count each, a total of 200. all they charged me was around $17 dollars for everything, awesome job!!!! they were superb!! and for that price. you cannot beat that. and there turnaround times was about a week. hope this helps, you can buy any bullets and get them moly-coated.

That’s a shame, because that caliber really benefits from reloading. They keep the factory pressures down, due to some weaker action rifles that were around when it was in its childhood. I like them 7mm Mags.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Hornady Interlocks are good, I also like the Scirroco II's for controlled expansion.
