The one I can find on sale always works best for me.
I do however like a rotary one but a vibratory works fine too.
Uprisings started or quelled, tornadoes rerouted, elections rigged.

BC, what do you have now?
You can get vibratory cleaners relatively cheap, Midway has them for less than $40. The alternative would be an ultrasonic (I picked one up from HF for ~$60 with a coupon), or the STM kit. Otherwise I think 99% of the tumblers, the small ones anyway, are made by the same outfit. I run all 3 but these days, especially in the interest of time, I use the ultrasonic a lot.

First time purchase, shoot on the low side of fair amount, 45acp, 22-250, .223, 243, .308, might look into 9mm

Hi BC99,
I am a hard tumbling kind of guy and highly recommend the Dillon CV-2001 devices. If, or when, you wear one out they will install a new motor for half price.
I have two of them and they have outlasted other brands such as Lyman.
I also use a Hornady LNL Magnum Sonic cleaner. That is very useful for cleaning the inside of brass and primer pockets. It also works great on gun parts, like the gas piston and trigger groups and bolts from my autoloading shotguns.
Good Luck and Good Shooting,

Bite the bullet and go for a Thumler's tumbler. Should you decide it's not for you, the resale is quite strong.

Been using a Cabela's brand tumbler (could be mistaken but I think it's a Frankfort Arsenal mfg.) for just over 8 years. Had to break into it about two months ago as it was getting NOISY, figured out the bolts holding the motor had loosened up. Tightened everything up and its now more quiet than it was when it was new. I'd buy another one, but this one just keeps on truckin'.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

BC, since you're not loading much, I'd focus on getting them clean vs. pretty, atleast starting out. Get one of the coupons out of the NRA mags for Harbor Freight and go down and pick up one of their ultrasonics. I think they run about $50/$60. That should get you started. Then down the road you can opt for a vibratory or the STM/rotary tumbler setup.

I got the Harbor Freight unit and a bag of their walnut media and it works just fine. From looking at other vibratory units, I do believe that the Harbor Freight and the Hornady are the same - except for drum color and price.

I bought a Harbor Freight tumbler (double 3 lb) for $40.00 on sale a month ago, some cheap stainless media off ebay and it works great.
