I have always shot my lever guns with open iron, but.....the old eyes are leaving a lot of fuzz on the front sight so....

Any recommendations based your experience for a base and rings. The scope is a 40mm w/ 1 inch tube.

Thanks

I've scoped a 336, and I thought it looked best with ordinary steel Weaver rings. Anything sleek just seemed like a mismatch to my eye...I prefer something with a one-inch objective on a lever gun, too. Just a matter of personal preference
