Any body else seeing birds where they are? We have had two great shoots the last two weekends in Donley county.

We're finding enough birds to keep the dogs busy, but we shoo very few of them anymore. We want to have enough birds to keep the dogs busy in February.

Good pictures.

The good news is that we won't hunt each place more than twice a year so there will be plenty of seed. It never gets old seeing a bird dog on point.

I've been taking Luke out for some work. He is finding a few coveys. Have only taken 1 which I plan to submit for parasite testing. He is having a great time. The darker picture was a single he pointed and reluctantly retrieved. I've not had much luck with the English Pointers retrieving. The GSP and Brittanys have been better at that.

orpco does your location mean Collingsworth, Texas or county? I hunt quite a bit in Collingsworth county.

Collingsworth county. I don't live there but I hunt there. Haven't hunted quail enough yet to get a sense of bird population. I think it's a little better than past 2 years but not great. Coveys seem small.

Not seeing any in my part of Brown County. I hope I am alone in this situation.

You cannot save Quail, they die off annually as we've tried to explain to one of our City Ranch Owners in So Texas. He had lots first day of So Zone Dove Season and 3 wks later complained about no birds again for 10 th year! We used to put corn under our feeder when cull shooting does, every time we'd get Blues & Bobwhites he thought were gone.
