Would like to see what you think if you were my neighbors . I live on little over an acre and on the corner lot and I have a spot that is wooded and I have seen a lot of does and a 8 point buck. I just moved here this pass summer it is in the county. I have some neighbors that have said they have shot a deer or two with a bow and some that treat them like pets. The acre behind and beside me does not have any houses on it and is own by my neighbor. I would be shooting from about 20 yards and had a 10 foot blind from when I moved. Its behind my shop. I see more deer here than at my lease. My only worry is after the shot if the deer runs in to one of the deer lovers yard.

go for it, doesn't sound like your doing anything wrong, my childhood best friend hunted and still hunts an "easement" 35 feet wide by a few 100 feet long, some neighbor HATE him for it, but every year he kills a good deer. The only thing I would suggest is to be prepared for a visit from the GW, if one of the neighbors does get mad.

Personally if I was in your shoes I would be sitting in that blind waiting for that 8. Know the laws though. I have a friend who said he got a ticket for hunting on a tract of land that was less than 10 acres. I tried looking up the law and hers's what i came up with. Restricted Areas in Counties- hunt in a subdivision with lots 10 acres or less in an unincorporated area of a county if the commissioners court, by order, prohibits the discharge of a firearm or the use of archery equipment in such subdivisions. (Contact local county clerk and ask about 235.022, Local Government Code). http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/regulations/...eas-in-countiesI'm not sure how to interpret that law exactly or what the area you live on looks like but if you say you live out in the country I assume that's not a subdivision. Maybe some more research should be done before you pull the trigger. But I would definitely look into it. That's too good to have deer in your back yard and not be able to do anything about it.

I called the GW of parker county. He said if you are in the county and own the property and use a bow there is no minimum on the amount of land. You just can't shoot across property lines.

I shoot one a year off my back porch with my bow. Just remember that they will run away from the direction of the shot. You might check the area up to 100 yards from your kill zone away from your shot and that will give you a good idea of where a deer might take it's dirt nap.
Hey, it's still hunting if your doing it with a bow, no matter what your location is.
