I go to school at A&M in college station and wanting/needing to know if there is any public hunting lands near there for any type of hunting? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated !

 ta THF Robertson county has WMA, have hunted it in pas, good area  Sam Houston NF may be closer

When i was at A&M, i hunted SHNF. I had a great time hunting there and had some success. A climber stand is a must.

The Somerville PHL Unit #711 and Unit #1121 will probably be the closest to you in College Station. Those will require the APH permit $48 in addition to your hunting license and any state (bird species) or federal stamp (waterfowl) if required for the species you wish to hunt. Sam Houston NF would seem to be where everyone from Houston would end up- how crowded does it get?
