Apply low hold Locktite to both, torque to 1/2 of the prescribed inch/ pounds, skipping around to make the screws all have contacted, torque to full torque, done.
Carefully make sure rings have the same gap on both sides before applying half the torque value.

Definitely use the locktite. I forgot to do it on my new .308. Just about the time I had it sighted in and grouping good the rings loosened up on me. Needless to say I had to take it back out and rezero it. Lesson learned the hard way.
