Looking for recommendations on a good rifle that is somewhat quiet for coyotes. Have some land that is near some homes - all rural and others hunt in the area. I just would rather use a more quiet gun for coyotes or the occasional bobcat if possible.

Been using .22 air rifles this year. They are great. Might check out.. http://www.airgundepot.com/rws-350p-magnum-combo-4x32-w-new-lockdown-mount-22-caliber-1000-fps.html

You can always get a rifle and use a silencer. There are a lot of silencer makers out there.

.22 Rifle? I wouldnt worry about the noise much unless it is illegal to shoot where you would be shooting. .22 Mag would be better. They still dont make much noise. Savage makes a handy bolt action .22 that has a threaded barrel for a silencer

If you aren't going to shoot say over 100 yards look into some of the pistol caliber rifles. .357 mag. .45 Colt, 44 mag. and there may be some others.
They shoot fairly quiet and won't rock the neighbors shot from rifle length barrels.
A single shot rifle in .357 mag. can shoot .38 special and that is a pretty quiet round out of a 20" barrel. Not even as loud as a .22 but will pack one heck of a wallop and leave a bigger hole than a .22 will.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

shoot 300 blackout subsonic rounds, not bad even without the can.

22 subsonics with a can or 300 blackout with a can. Doesn't get much quieter than that!
