I don't hunt in TX, used to, but now live in Fl. Thought I'd share before and after photos of the kayak I bought on Black Friday to get me where the ducks are in FL. If these pictures don't work I could use some help posting them. These pics are of the whole process. Very happy with how it turned out Sanded it down Primed Tan base coat Extra curricular fun Started camo with a green using willows then used brown and stenciled using a palm leaf then finally black using regular oak leaves Pretty proud of the job Any feedback? I will add some bungees and add natural cover when hunting ducks to fit the terrain

Looks good. You worry about those water lizards when you are hunting in FL?

You worry about them the first few times but quickly realize they're more afraid of you then you are of them. Leave them alone, they leave you alone...unless they want your dead duck!

Very cool. Thought about doing mine (already olive green) but heard too many times of the paint not sticking or peeling. Let me know how it holds up and good luck down there. Watch out for them gators!

Watch out for them gators! Im worried about the paint holding up to. Hopefully sanding it and two layers of primer then two thick layers of fusion plastic spray paint will get it done

How many decoys and such do you think you can haul out? I may be interested in doing this.

That'll get the blood pumping! Obviously there isolated incidents with gators but those really are few and far between

How many decoys and such do you think you can haul out? I may be interested in doing this. You can see in the picture there is space both in front and behind. I can fit a dozen and a half in the area behind. I leave the front area for my gun, blind bag etc. If I have a lot to haul in based on the scouting I can drag a skid that floats behind me that can hold 4 dozen decoys. Just tie it to the yak and go.

That video was crazy. My guess would be that she had some little ones around. Never seen one attack like that. I am from S Louisiana and when we get 2" of rain they are in my backyard. Lol

It was probably going after his bait.
I've had to run from a gator or two in my time.

Figured i would update everybody on how the paint on the kayak is holding up. Hunted out of it yesterday and today down here in Palm Beach, Fl. I am very pleased with it. Some of the paint came off the bottom but some parts of the swamp have shallow limestone areas so not a lot i can do about that. All of the other paint is holding up so far. No sign on coming off or peeling. We saw quite a few gators this weekend - 20 or so on the paddle in yesterday - well we saw their eyes on the surface anyway - only 1 gator today, they all go the other way once they know you're coming. Some of the ducks got cut out, but this is a 3 man limit yesterday of teal, spoonies and ringers ( most common ducks here) Thought this was a cool picture of the area we hunted
