Guys, I wanted to get the opinion of the forum regarding some deer photo'd on my place the last few years to a recent management 8pt. I took in South Texas. The 8pt. was estimated by taxidermist between 130-135 and I'm thinking some of the better pictures over the seasons off my small Young county ranch are in that range. Just trying to confirm this thought and keep my expectations in-line.

I bet your Mgt buck is closer to 125.

So, are the other pics in the 125-135 range?

Why is a number so important? Do you like the deer you killed and the ones you are seeing? Will you not like them anymore if they don't hit some number you have in your head?

Just ignore this post if it offends you I just don't get all the fixation on numbers. Those are all great deer IMO.

Nogalus I had already decided I'd shoot any of them if given the opportunity in shooting daylight. Just know the camera can distort sizes sometimes and now have a recent kill reference to compare to, that's all.

Yours looks closer to 125 than 135. Most of the bucks pictured look to be 120- 130

I agree they are all very nice deer and if you like him enough to pull the trigger Im sure youll be happy with the results, that being said the top buck might be in the 25-30 range but it looks to me like all the TC photos show 120s but I dont think any will reach the 130 mark.

Just realize that it takes a lot for an 8 point to score well. A 120+ 8 point is a very respectable deer IMO.

I agree with this post. I have a 139 gross 137 net TBGA 8 on the wall and he is much bigger than the 8 from your Dad's place. Your deer is a mature 8 and highly respectable but probably mid 120's.
