i found a couple of trees on the lease today that have a crepe myrtle look to them, with the multiple trunks and small leaves, they also have a small dark blue/purple berry on them, a little smaller than a pea. the two a saw today were browsed heavy up to about 5ft, berries and leaves. phone was dead so couldnt take a pic.
NE texas bottom land.
any ideas? i have checked a few websites with no luck.
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

Dingleberry? Sorry, not familiar with East Texas plants.
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

i am thinking it is either deer berry or chinese privet, thanks guys, i will get a pic tomorrow.
whatever it is they definitely like it, there are no livestock on this place and this is the best example of a "browse line" i have ever seen.

Any Bumelia Trees in your area? Does it have an orange tinted layer under the bark? Deer love to rub or sign post these trees.

May have a strong smell or sap on it that helps them keep the bugs away also... you cant find a young pine tree here that hasn't been tore up by a buck

Bumelia/Coma trees are in the same family. Deer really rub on Bumelias in the Hill Country and prefer them if they are on a place. I have seen them growing in Colorado County also. Deer rubs all over them.

well i guess i should have been more clear, lol, they are browsing them like crazy, no rubs or anything on them, they are just eating all the berries and leaves up to about 5ft.

Then my guess is they are not Bumelia then since every Bumelia I have seen has had a rub on it them. They do browse them heavily also.

they look more like this? bases look like the mess in the background? shrubs are fairly straight until the berries weigh things down.

not really, they were single multi-trunked trees, the two i saw were about 50 yards apart. i will get pics tomorrow, i'll get one in the background behind me and the buck.
