Does anyone know where or how to find professional/government trappers? I have called several State Agencies only to run in circles. Specifically looking for Archer County.

We don't have time to run the snares regularly so I am hoping to find someone to put out the M44 killing machines. We shoot them regularly but have not managed to put a dent into the population. They seem to be really hurting the fawn crop for the last several years.

It is nothing to see five or six every time you sit in the stand. I saw 14 together last year on opening morning. Any help or information pertaining to cost will be greatly appreciated.

The Texas Crow Patrol are not professionals but they will do the work for you likely for free.

We have a system in Bandera Co. that works pretty good. It is a county Assn., club or what ever you want to call it. Land owners that want to join pay a certain amount per acre. The County also kicks some money into the pot. The landowner gets money for each coyote caught. The landowners that are to busy or lack the knowledge to trap call or whatever it takes to get rid of coyotes get others to do it. The club elects directors to verify coyotes were actually taken on the ranch claiming the kill so there is no cheating.

Get a hold of Randy Smith at 817-978-3146, full contact info on the site Bob linked. Cost with Wildlife Services will depend on the agreement set up your county has. Some counties pay for the services out a budget item while others have cooperators(land owners) pay into a pool for the county. Good luck with your coyote problem and feel free to contact me any time, I work with Wildlife Services out of the Fort Stockton District. I'll do all I can to help out.

Appreciate the information.

Hunting them isn't an option. You can't kill enough of them that way. I want to wipe them out. We have been thinning them out slowly by calling them but there are just too many.

If it wasn't for neighbors dogs and other varmints, I'd suggest baits.

We can help or your county extension agent will know how to get you in touch with a gov trapper. As far away as you are from us it probably wouldn't be cost effective, but you never know. PM me or go to Biglaketrapper.com.

I have a contact with a guy that came out and helped me this year with setting my snares. We had a mange problem here for years and when that disappeared the coyote population exploded. Snares and trapping will work great but if you are not good at it you can train the yotes to it pretty fast. Same goes for varmint calling. If I were you I would not open it up to just every John Doe down the road that wants a place to go and shoot yotes. If you let anyone come in, make sure they know what they are doing and not just knowing how to handle a gun. Let me find that contact info and I will get back to you.

In a month or two all the varmint contests will be starting up I guarantee those guys wouldn't mind coming out to help out and generally they're pretty good at what they do
