I have 70+ bison. Cows are pregnant now. Got some young bulls or yearling cows u can shoot. Of course, you can shoot anyone you want to shoot for the right money. Since you said meat hunt I assumed you weren't interested in trophy bulls or pregnant cows. Pm me if you're interested though.

Counting on some photos!

Better get some heavy slugs! 45 LC is slow moving bullet for thick animal like bison. I have a 45-70 that would be fun to poke one with.

Brayden (Lazy L's Southern Comfort) you will be missed! You were more than a pet you were my reason to rise and return for many days! You were my rock!

If you use a 45 LC make sure you take lots of ammo. It is my experience and prediction that you will encounter quite a rodeo.

U'll need more than a couple of rounds of 45-70 if u go that way too.

You won't have a problem with either the .45-70 or .375 H&H....just use premium ammo. I've taken a Bison with my 45-70 and Asian Water Buffalo with my .375 H&H.

I would, however, advise against the .45 LC.

Should do fine. Got to remember they killed thousands of them with black powder long ago. Bison are just slow to realize they are dieing not bullet proof. Saw a guy shoot a asia buff with a 30-06 using 130 grain bullets...it died just not the most effective thing to use.

I put one down with (2) 45-70 rounds through both shoulders and lungs, it still took 15 minutes for it to expire. One round wasnt found, the other was found in the hide of the offside shoulder. It was a boring hunt as far as "challenge" is concerned, but it was fun to be able to take a bison with a 45-70 like they did way back when. smile

I want to say he was around 3 to 4 years of age but I dont remember for sure. I had a euro mount of the skull done and have the hide in my living room.
