Killing some rattlesnakes. Anybody know what to do with them dead or alive?

Non posioness snakes yeah I would agree. But posioness ones gotta die.

I tried frying one I caught and it tasted like ($Y#. It was a young snake and I may not have prepared it correctly. If i do it again I'll try an older larger snake. I usually let em go if they arent around camp.

eat em

I leave them be unless around camp or a ground blind. Every so often I will skin, gut, and debone a snake. It has to be a medium or bigger sized snake otherwise there is just not enough meat. Braise it in a white wine sauce and serve it up as an appetiser before dinner.

Skin'em, eat'em and tan the skins...for belts, hats, etc.

Kill em, leave em, shoot the yotes and pigs that come to eat em....then leave them too!

there is a market for the big ones, 5 foot and up. You get one of the 5 plus footers you call us. But there cannot be any damage on the skin and we prefer them alive. We have an enclosure where we keep them.
