Hello my name is Deven Kauffman. I'm one of the biggest turkey hunters you'll ever meet. I've been turkey hunting and taking people since i was 6. so i know a little bit about turkeys. I've guided at a hunting ranch for several years in missouri before i joined the army and got stationed at ft. hood. I dont know very many people so im trying to get to know some places around ft. hood. I will be more than happy to take kids or adults turkey hunting in trade for being able to hunt. Im also a huge deer hunter and ive guided for deer for several years also so im willing to trade for that also. feel free to PM me or reply and hope we can get a hunt set up. thank you for you're time!

Hey I hope you enjoy Ft Hood, I was there in the 3d Cav for awhile. You can actually hunt on post, rules are strict, but its doable. Go to the sportsman center to get the information about the regs of hunting/fishing on post.

Yeah I know what you mean. Lots of red tape, but what do you expect from anything federal? There is some good fishing on post though.

Fair warning it is illegal for you to guide hunters on public land and be compensated for it! You can not accept money, food or fuel as payment anything of value even a trade out for a hunt on private land is considered compensation. I get a lot of flack on this forum for stating this BUT as a fellow hunting guide I can tell you that getting caught is not worth it!

Devan, sent you a PM....I've hunted Ft Hood for 13 years now...it's not as bad as it would seem if you know the tricks!!

Im not guiding or going to be guided on a public land? i know the law iv guided for over half my life thank you. If youre just trying to be nice i appreciate it. I did not say anything about guiding on public land im talking to landowners on their own property. Which im proposing to take a landowner on his property turkey hunting and teaching them in return they let me hunt. Every game warden iv talked to says that there is nothing illegal about that.

Welcome to the forum. I'm stationed at hood too and getting into hunting this year. Didn't want to deal with all the registration with weapons either. I got my post permit and did the bow qual and will be bow hunting onpost. No need to register that, and dont deal with all the guided hunt stuff.
