They took over my camper. Battled them last weekend and again this weekend. Figured out they are getting in through the vents for the furnace and refrigerator, and other various small openings. Sealed everything up with duct tape today before we left and set off a bomb inside. Unbelivable noise as they were trying to get out. Saw lots of them INSIDE the taillights fixtures trying to get out.
Will be interesting to see what we find next weekend.....after we air out the camper a little.

The afternoon hunt on opening day of rifle season I stuck my head in my blind to climb in and was swarmed by red wasps. Almost broke my leg trying to jump out of the way.
You may only get one shot, so make it count!!

I was fighting a few red wasp in my stand and it got so bad that I had to get up and take my cap off to use for a swatter. One thing I can't deal with!!!

If I have too many wasps, hornets, bees, etc in my box blind, I will bug bomb it. I don't care how it effects the deer. I can't stand any kind of flying stinging bugs and wouldn't enjoy my hunt anyway. But starting this weekend, we are finally supposed to get cold and stay cold for awhile.

Yep. The first "real freeze" will take em out. Not much you can do but bear it and hope for no sting. BTW careful with the African bees That's what I was hoping would happen but I was really surprised though...it was 18 degrees in the Throck last Tuesday but this past weekend we we covered up in yellow jackets. Hate those things!

I was in a fight for my life and got stung three times. Finally I had enough and stepped out of the blind only to find a 5 year old 8 point i'd been looking for standing 30 feet from me. Needless to say no pics available. WAR ON ALL YELLOWJACKETS !!!!!!!!!!!

They are paper wasps or sometimes called wood wasps. They are lookin for places they will be safe when its cold and they become dormant. During the cool nights they sleep and wake up in the warm midday hrs. That's why spraying them is only a temp. solution. Even after hard freezes, they will wake up when it warms up again. They can sting and will only if squeezed or harmed. Otherwise they are unaggressive and will just take off if they land on you.

^oh, if you have nests in your blind you have regular yellow jackets. Wood wasps are nomadic and will go from home to home

I've sat there on cold mornings and as it warmed up had them falling on me in the stand. Gives me the creeps but at least they're sluggish when it's cold so I can kill them easier.

Those suckers have invaded us, too. They're paper wasps and look like this.  They didn't make a nest on or in the camper, but they did in a nearby mesquite. It sucked opening weekend. I couldn't get to the lease until 10 PM or so to find the camper covered. And I'm allergic to red wasps - don't know about these but didn't wanna find out the hard way. Killed 200+ all around the camper and I've already met my deer camp ER quota for the year.  Blinds were covered in them, too. After it got down to 12 degrees last week I thought they'd be gone. They are still around though.

They are still around though. Looks like you've got Guinea Wasps. They're a little smaller and can be less aggressive than Red Wasps/Yellow Jackets, but I've found them to nest in larger colonies so they're just as annoying if not worse. They'll go dormant once winter decides to set in, but until then they'll continue to be a nuisance. Pre-front is always the worst as they scramble to find shelter before the cold arrives. Btw if you're allergic, be sure to always carry an EpiPen on you. Better safe than sorry.

Those are the ones I have had. Awful this year. Killed close to 500 in 2 different blinds. Bring foggers and tighten up your windows where they can get in to find shelter.
Been stung twice. Hurts like hell for an hour then not bad.
I hate them.

We actually have had a light year for wasps as the drought has kept them down. The recent rains have brought them back out. Fix a blind that is sealed well and you won't have a problem. The rut is on my friends!!!

Haha. Its so hard to sit still when they're flying in. We had so many on our camper they jammed the AC fan inside the unit. Crazy!!!
