I like the way the LC9 feels I carried my Glock 23C for years then wanted a single stack 9MM to carry while I was at work my glock and holster kept catching on things so I got a Kahr CW9 and now I keep it in my pocket all the time It and the LC9 are as small as I feel comfortable shooting yet still easy to conceal and carry in my jean pocket all day and night I don't leave home without my CW9 as an exterminator I carry a spare mag with rat shot in it for rattle snakes if needed and it also works wonders for that

Sig 239/9mm IWB or OWB also. Now that I have the Shield the 239 stays in the safe.

Oddly enough, I think the most carried gun of all time is the Walther PPK and PPH. They are thin, but I don't like the hammer coming back into the web of my thumb.
My personal favorite is the Ruger LCP.

I really like the PPK. I like the way it's built, the materials, the function, and the size. The PPQ is nice too.

The cm jammed too often. When I traded it at at Carter's Country I got almost nothing because mine was the sixth they'd taken in trade. I'm told the PM is much better.

I appreciate the help. I have planned a trip to the local gun shop to get a better feel for a couple ofthe most mentioned. Im thinkingt bout the shield or one of the glocks

Shield is very good for a 9mm. I personally use a Kel Tec P-3AT. Truly the most concealable gun out there. Not fun to shoot, but it's cheap, reliable and tiny. You could also look at the PF-9 for a KT 9mm. I don't like the gun being uncomfortable all day long, and pretty much any of the larger guns (XD-SC, P239, P238, XDS, any 1911-style, etc.) are not carry-able for me. And any gun you're going to leave at home due to comfort is the wrong CC gun.

Ive tried quite a few (lcp officer 1911, G23, etc) and ended up loving my G27. Small easily concealed light and still carries 9 rounds of 40.

Well at least we have one revolver man out there. Happy day. I like the 2 1/2" 5 shot type subnose that can take a P+ round. When the weather gets hot concealment is always difficult. I wear a dress shirt (tuck in) mostly so I have the revolver under my dress shirt and stuck were the belt goes. I have an inner band for the holster. I have to unbuttom one or two in order to draw the gun but this usually isn't a problem. If I'm in an area where I feel unsafe I go ahead and unbutton one or two.

I would not feel nekkid if all I had was a "J" or "K" frame S&W to carry.

Sig p238 with ankle holster and or Sig 1911 c3 IWB with a good firm carry belt and quality holster. Each must choose for himself.

All good choices. I'm with Buckeye. Good ol 3" 1911 gets my vote along with the 26. You said 9mm so I'd say 26 would be my answer to you. It'll always go bang.

I've been very happy with my Kel Tec P11. It's not that I can't afford a higher class gun- I've tried dozens, but the P11 holds 11 rounds of 9mm in a j frame sized package. My 2 have been 100% reliable with over 1000 rds each, and so dang easy to carry.

I had a Kahr CM9 that I liked a lot. Sold it when I got my Springfield XDs 9mm. Wish I would have kept it had I known that they would have kept my pistol for recall so long! Believe me or not but for the money I would get me another SCCY CPX2 9mm in a heartbeat! I loved mine but need something for trade bait on a rifle I just had to have. I will get another soon! Prices right now are between about $230-$275. Get on SlickGuns.com and look for the best price. X2. Seen a review by hickok45 on YouTube about the SCCY. That or a Ruger LC9.

I have a Kahr PM9. It's been absolutely reliable and is great to carry. I have an M&P shield that I took in trade and it's actually a good bit larger.
