Been really weird. Last week I killed a really nice buck in Sabine county chasing a doe. This week I have been on my lease in Jasper County, and there are a few bucks cruising around, but real sporadic. Today I got a late start, but figured I'd go anyway, thinking surely the cold weather had em moving. When I got there, there was a doe and yearling in one of my shooting lanes, so I waited to climb in the stand. About 5 minutes later I checked again, and they were still there, but now about 50 yards from the stand. After about 20 minutes, I figured what the heck, I'll go ahead and climb up and hunt. So I climbed up the ladder and into the box, the whole time the same two deer were less than 50 yards away. They finally just laid down, and stayed there for almost 2 hours! I never saw anything else, but my stepdaughter saw a young 8 following a doe.

ET, thanks for the reply, I hope to leave today and be in the stand in the Morning. What a story. I have always the rut here in Woodville was either in Late Oct or around TGing. It's been real slow on our lease. Since opening of gun we have seen 1 6 pt and not many does. Hopefully that will change this weekend. Good luck my Friend.
