I read through all the post just about everyday when it gets slow at work or when I am in the stand. My question is........... Which county in Texas produces the best Whitetail hunting??? I am looking forward to see what all yall have to say on this one!!

Number of deer Age of deer Size of deer Score of deer lets start with age of deer. where can i find the oldest bucks?
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

I guess I should have rephrased the question to.... If you had your choice of any lease, what county would that lease be in and why as it pertains to deer hunting?

If I had any choice, I'd take a large place somewhere near Lake Grapevine or Eagle Mountain. I'd be within 30 minutes of home and I'd argue that there are more large deer in these areas per acre than any other area close to here, maybe in the state.

My dad is coming off a lease over in Childress this year and we both live in east Texas. We have hunted one time together and that was when I was a kid. He wants us to get on one together next year! What area in Texas do we need to look at?

I think the most dense population is the llano area. Ive been in on some management hunts where they have 20 doe tags to fill just to keep things in check. Its nuts. Small deer down there though.

Every area of the state is different. It all depends on what you're looking for. There is no best area in my opinion.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

Find a centrally locate area and start looking for leases. also, how far do you want to drive and in which direction?

Many factors to consider, but there is a stretch of river in North Texas that has out produced anywhere I have seen or heard about in Texas, or anywhere in North America for that matter. I know of 10 bucks in the last 3 years that came off a 15 miles stretch...all over 200". Giving the chance, that is where I would be
