Hey guys I'm a freshman at Tarleton State University here in Stephenville and new to the area. And would love to get some duck hunting in! Does anyone know of any public land/waters that can be duck hunted in or around erath county? I've hear lake proctor or Grandbury? Not looking for anyone's honey hole or anything I just have no idea where to go or what's available...

Both are available to hunt. Proctor is mostly all accessible per the Corps, Granbury you have to get drawn for a BRA permit to have a blind.

Not too much public land, you will have to knock on some doors to get use of some stock tanks or conservation lakes.

Not too much public land, you will have to knock on some doors to get use of some stock tanks or conservation lakes. More and more guides and Dallas area hunters are hunting the area, so be prepared to pay. Who knows, play the "I'm a responsible college kid" card, and you might get lucky. Make sure you pick up trash. Or just head to the lakes. There are plenty within an hour or 2.

Mineral wells lake is a state park, pretty sure you cant hunt it.
Granbury as said before is a draw only, but the lake is so low that BRA suspended the draw until water levels rise as the blind locations are dry.
