Whichever one feels the best to you. All the big manufacturers have winners. ^ This.. this question never dies and i understand if you are new to hunting and you haven't heard it before but its like Ford vs. Chevy, all of the major bow makers make high quality bows that will hit a target and kill an animal. The trick to the whole thing is to find your local pro shop (NOT GANDER MOUNTAIN OR ACADEMY), go to the pro shop and hang out for a few hours, hold and shoot some bows, talk to the guys, talk to the local guys hanging out and see what they like about each bow. Then finally make your decision on which bow feels best in your hand and you think you will enjoy shooting the most. You will only stay active in the sport if you choose a bow that fits you . It would be best if we could peel all the name brands off and just let you hold every bow in the store not knowing what it was called. Good luck and get to your local archery shop.

And next year or the year after plan on buying another new bow, and repeating that process every year or every other year for a long time.

The best is the one the feels best in your hands and at a price you can afford. Everyone has their own opinions on what the best bow out there is. Personally I prefer Elite followed by Bowtech. That's not to say I wont shoot others its just what I prefer. And wont shoot any single cam bows again cause of the hand shock I feel with them, but that is just me, I know many people who would disagree with me in a heart beat. But those two have worked best for me.

One that fits you. 1. Fits your shooting style. 2. Fits your draw length. 3. Fits your draw weight capabilities. 4. Fits your stand/hunting style. 5. Fits the accessories you want to use with it. 6. Fits your budget.

Mathews is best but a lot of company's are building nice bows. I have a z7 now and love it. Just shoot a lot of different ones then you'll buy a Mathews.

A lot of people say mathews are way over rated and over priced. I shoot a bowtech carbon knight. I love it because it's so light weight.

Hoyt for me but I stand alone on that more times than not.
You just need to fling a 2-1/2 ft stick really fast and hard, and do so accurately and consistently. The first two are up to the bow, the latter two are up to you.

The only bow I have ever owned is a HOYT Magnatech....10 year old bow...250fps...single pin....and it has put meat in the freezer every year . Then I shot my son's Athens and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I killed a doe this year with his bow (first ever deer that bow has taken ) and now, after 10 years, I want a bow that shoots over 300fps. So, like all the guys are telling you, find a bow that you are good with....for the animals sake. People have been killing animals with a stick and string for a long time...some sticks are just fancier than others.
By the way...my son took his first ever deer with a BOW this season using my old HOYT.
GOOD LUCK!
