Tonight was a little disappointing. About half the activity as this morning and they stuck to the trees behind me. One little basket 8 trailing was the best quality. No signs of the shooters guide saw last night. He said one was about 140 and other bigger.

Still same property, but yet another stand, edge of trees and open clover plot. Down in a swell protected from the winds today. Found out two shooter bucks seen were a 140 and 170, but they were in cut field about half mile off property, trying to figure out where they come from and go on this property. Little disappointed as my all day sit yesterday was where I thought they had been seen. Outfitters and guides know just the right amount of info to keep you motivated without lying.

Like the spot this morning, not a bunch of activity. Same little 8 trailing doe I saw last night at other place. Wind picks up to 20 mph today so think I will go in at lunch to recover a little after two all day sits. Wind dies down a little this evening, so should be better.

first lunch I've come back to the lodge. little nap and caught up on work. time is running out and trying to get 'A' game on in tough conditions. for first time not hunting that other property, actually hunting 100 yards from the lodge in a big food plot that hasn't been hunted much this year. I hunted it last year and where I saw that 150-160 8 point in the video I posted earlier and another 135. while I'm doing that my guide is going to set a ladder stand on a property next to other one I'm hunting where they think the 140 and 170 are coming from. I will go back there in next couple days. nothing else killed in camp today, 20 mph winds really shut them down.

Back in the stand, I love this plot because of all the action here last year, it will probably disappoint because of that. Panoramic view, I'm actually on a little point you can tell from the satalite. I was in box blind on east side of plot last year and that big buck walked out right in front if where I am now. You can see how close I am to the lodge.

I have had that 300 ac place to myself except one guy that hunted afternoon. I hunted close to lodge last night and only saw about & does. I thought bucks were coming from or going to the 300 place, but more analysis they might be from a little farm south of the big bean field that outfitter just got this year and hadn't really set up or hunted. They put a quick ladder stand in there yesterday afternoon and I'm probably hunting all day. Rain coming in though, but tomorrow will be even worse than today, today might be last chance.

good luck!!!! stick a biggun! hope you brought some rain gear
I don't always shoot deer, but when I do, I prefer B&C's. I don't always shoot ducks, but when I do, I prefer banded ducks.

That was miserable, 3 hours of chilly rain coming down at angle. We didn't expect much today, but I still had my Frabil top, i needed the bottom too! It soaked all into the seat and then my seat. Will be uncomfortable next 4 hours, but could be worse. I could be at the warm lodge in dry clothes under a warm blanket drinking a Scotch, but no big bucks there!

Had about a dozen does hit bean field before dark. Nothing special except being miserable cold and wet. A couple bucks taken today, this is the new big buck leader at 155. So many points looks higher, but no tines or beams.

Rain coming in through mid morning, I'm sleeping in and will get in for rest of the day after rain ends. The owner of Illinois Connection got the good stuff out tonight!

Hang in there Rob. The deer should be on the move when the rain stops.
Looks like they are shooting some young deer. The one 10 in the bed of the truck looks mature but the rest look 3.5 or younger. Hard to tell from only the pics you posted. What are your thoughts on the age of the deer that have been killed? Might be just the angles of the photos. Good Luck!
