My uncle took this buck the other day and I was curious how old you think he is. He's going to check the teeth and verify for sure. Your thoughts?

Looks 3.5 to me. Need a side pic of his head while its up. The head triangulation is a bit hard to tell when its stretched out in the down position. No gut for sure and no saggy back.

Rut. Bucks 3 yrs old and under usually do not stain their hocks that much like he has. My guess is that buck has been in the rut for a couple of weeks now.
