This doe started coming in around the first of October. She is very emaciated and has black specks all over her body but do not think those are ticks. There do not appear to be any wounds, but one area on the hip seems to be void of hair -

Probably just sucked dry by those triplets. 3 kids will do that to you. She'll look better before too long.

She looks to be a very old doe and a good one at that if she raised triplets. Nothing wrong that I can tell with her other than being pulled down by the fawns.

Are you sure it isn't Obamacare that actually "sucked all the doe out of her" like she's the US economy

I'd be a vegitarian too if bacon grew on trees.

Zoom in and take a closer look. She has black spots all over her, a possible sore on her neck, and the skin on her left hip is almost gone. Triplet fawns will not do that to any doe. Those fawns are weened!

One tip about looking at photos - if you hold down the CTRL button and scroll with your mouse, you can enlarge or reduce the photo. If you enlarge, you can see the spots and they almost look like ticks!

She didn't come in this past weekend, so she may have moved on or died. All the other does with twins are big, fat, and the fawns have been weened. So even with triplets, she should show signs of improvement by now!

This has got me puzzled!

Is that "working clothes" with spots all over them! LOL!

Everybody seems to be missing that problem!
I seen a number of does drawn down by fawns,in the past, but I NEVER seen one with POX like spots on their body!

Scrolled in and can't see any "black pox", just shadows and some ticks on the point of her left hip. I agree with everyone else, it's those dang kids. If they're weaned, they haven't been for long. We still had wet does two weeks ago.

You seem to be missing that there is no problem... looks like she could have a few tics if anything

I've finally heard back from the TPWD biologist - this doe has a type of mange that developes the pustules that look like ticks. It is common in Comanche and surrounding counties, but is not widespread. He also stated that the triplets are or should be weened when the pictures were taken.
