I prefer my .35 Lever action Marlin.. Has a cheap tasco scope and I shoot 200grain Remington's.. Every deer I have ever shot with this gun typically gives them the dirt nap treatment instantly.. My 9 I shot saturday went wide eyed and dropped.
I have a crappy tasco scope and this thing hits the ground, gets bumped around.. never loses its zero..

To think it was won in auction 50 years ago for .10 cents.

30/30 is my all time favorite for close range.

I usually use my .264 Win Mag for anything over, but I hate lugging it around haha. That or my stepdads 6.5x55 tikka swede..

Any round out of a sighted in scope from a .30 caliber will be just great. I love my Marlin 30-30 with a Nikon 3x9x40. Let my boys shoot the Browning or Sako, but have have a special place for my old brush gun.

See, alot of people dont even know what a .35 is , which is actually the brush version of a 30/30.. Love this thing, wouldnt get rid of it for all the money in the world.. well maybe for couple of mil but i would have to have a replacement :-P

30-30 for the close shots, 270 for everything else.

The .35 is great cartridge. Great story in the NRA mag this month about it. I think it is comparable to the 30.30. Not too many folks left will shoot a .35. Can you find ammo?

Pawn shop here in tomball always has a few boxes of 150gr but bass pro shop in katy mills mall here in houston has 150 and 200 remington and some hornady 200.. so ya I can still find it thank god.. why do people stray away from the .35? I've never had a issue with this gun?

CZ 6.5x55 swede! It's for any yardage that I'm willing to shoot at game. I have my 25-06 that I will also use.

It's been overshadowed by the 30-30. Not sure why. The 35 is a better round for most purposes. I'd love to own one some day.

Remington 700 ADL in 6mm that I got over 40 years ago. It now sits in my brother's safe. Recently got a 6mm to replace it -- Remmy 788 with a 3-15x42 Minox. Just put a Timney trigger on it. Should be a sweet shooter with 85 grain Barnes ttsx reloads.

For about the last three seasons, I have hunted with my Marlin guide gun in 45-70 since the shots were less 100yrds about 60-70yrds. This years we are hunting my place again which has a little farther shot, the shot distance is over 100yrds so for that I am breaking out my .243 for one I know the .243 is dead accurate at that range plus I haven't used my .243 in a few seasons it's about time I bring it out to use again....
