I think this old guy was attacked by a Mt Lion, he also had scars on the top of his neck...pretty wicked deep scars, some of the scars were still raw.

They get in some serious fights this time of the year during their rut. Young rams will gang up on older rams also.

It doesn't look like what I have seen of what cats can do to animals. This looks more like what happens when they fight and get their butt whooped. They are rutting still at this time of year and they can get pretty beat up sometimes.

Also, when you shot him was he on a cliff or hill side and fall or anything like that? I have seen some damage like that from when something like that happens.

"I can dive deeper and come up drier"
"did you do that?"

I am not sure about the mange but like navasot said if it was a cat it would have gotten it around the neck.

I wouldn't need the cape. Ain't got no use for a sheep or goat on the wall. But to each his own.

Is it the Chupas that are making the drawings in the caves?

i had a cat get ahold of a horse once, and it shredded my horse. He lived but considering the damage on him, I'm pretty sure that goat would be way worse if it was a lion. But what the hell do i know?

Sure looks like a cat got ahold of him, deep puncture wounds in the hind quarters from pursuit. They gotta get them down before they go to the neck and it looks like that old boy didn't cooperate. I'm afraid I'd have to keep that cape, tells it's own story!

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.
