I didnt see a single deer. I hunt in east Texas by Woodville. I heard maybe a dozen shots on both days. Between all three guys on our lease we saw a total of three deer. All where does. I talked to a few guys in the surronding camps and they said pretty much the same thing. They also said they noticed a bunch of acorns down in various spots through out the woods. The only thing I cant figure out is during bow season there where deer every where and then they just disapeared this weekend.

My mama always told me that deer know when season starts. I laughed at first...but now I'm beginning to believe what she said. I saw three doe and a buck. The last couple - doe and buck - I saw after legal light and couldn't tell whether the buck was a shooter or not. I saw 2 doe Sat morning - no bucks. Nobody has called with a head count, but I've been out and about all day. Maybe we can get a cool front before long. It ain't fun sitting in a stand sweating and swatting skeeters.

Slow on our place. Saw 3 does all weekend. There were 2 bucks killed by other hunters on our place, but opening weekend is usually way better than this. I only heard about 4 shots all day today.

It was horrible.....I hunt in Rusk County and did not see 1 single deer. My hunting buddy saw one doe this morning, she came to his feeder for less than a minute and was gone. It was way too hot...I was sweatin balls Sunday afternoon. I did take a little night ride on our camping property and saw 3 deer, 2 doe and 1 small 4 pt. They were only moving at night. Who could blame them, it was just too hot. Will be going back on the 15th for another weekend.....please let it be cooler.

One dead 10-point in Concho County. Very heavy deer...must be 200#+.

Hunting is more to me than Antlers on the wall. It's more about the memories you make, and sharing those memories with friends, and family.

I didn't have any good luck, the LongHorns lost and the Cowboys lost. If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all, gloom, dispair and agony on me.
I feel your pain there, Id say the Cowboys could be a total loss, but if the Horns could get a few breaks and NEVER play like that again they still could could do well.
